Meet and Greet​
Mandatory for all new walking and hiking clients, the Meet and Greet is a quick (usually 15-30 minutes) drop-in for Adrian to meet clients, say hello to incoming client dogs, and follow up on any questions they have from the intake form. ​

Walk and Train
The Walk and Train is for dogs who could use a bit more training support during their regular daytime walks. This service is for owners who would like a professional trainer to walk their dog during the day and work on specific areas of training during the walk. Training may include but is not limited to puppy socialization and basic obedience training, loose-leash walking, counter-conditioning for reactivity, muzzle training, focus and engagement skills training, recall, and more. Walk and Trains are 45 minutes long and are billed monthly.​

Solo Hike
The solo hike is an hour-long hike, off-leash or on a longline, at a local hiking trail. Solo hikes are great for dogs who can hike off leash but don’t need a full adventure hike, or for dogs who could benefit from a bit more structure and training support than what a group hike provides. Solo hikes can be vigorous for young, active dogs or slow and steady for older dogs who want to have a long sniffy adventure. Solo hikes are 60 minutes in length and are billed monthly.​

Solo Walk
The solo walk is perfect for young puppies working on leash walking skills, senior dogs who don’t have the stamina for a full hour hike, or low-energy dogs who just need a short walk in the neighbourhood. Solo walks are 30 minutes in length and are billed monthly.​

Adventure Hike
Please note: Roam is not currently taking new clients for this service. If you would like to join the Adventure Hike waitlist, please fill out the General Intake Form (below) and select "Adventure Hike Waitlist" when prompted.
Offered weekly on Wednesdays, the Adventure Hike is a 2-3 hour hike designed for young, fit dogs who could benefit from an exhausting, full-day hiking excursion. Dogs are picked up in the morning, driven out of the city to a trail system, and then brought home mid-afternoon. Adventure hiking dogs typically cover between 10 and 20 km during a hike (depending on the elevation gain and maintenance of the trails). All dogs in the group will practice loose-leash walking, recall, name recognition, and other minor obedience training to make their experience as safe and enjoyable as possible. Adrian takes a maximum of four (4) client dogs at a time for adventure hikes.
All adventure dogs must be:

Physically fit and able to safely (and happily) hike 10-20 km in a day

On a veterinarian-prescribed flea and tick preventative at all times when enrolled in Adventure Hike services

Able to recall reliably in the presence of distractions such as other hikers, dogs, and wildlife

Comfortable being handled on and off the trail in case of injury, cleanup (brushing/de-burring), or emergency
-
Neutral to humans and dogs. Dogs who run up to or bark at other humans or dogs on the trail are not eligible for this service

Comfortable riding in a Ruffland car kennel, or wearing a seatbelt attached to a harness, in a vehicle for up to 2 hours at a time

“Tough” enough to withstand several hours outdoors in inclement weather, bugs, and/or rough terrain
